Twin lift - for side to side levelling of twin axle caravans

TWIN LIFT - the benefits

  1. Makes the  levelling process quick and stress less
  2. Rock steady (eliminates bounce as caravan does not sit on the suspension)
  3. Can be used quickly and safely to change wheels (axle stands should be used when working under vehicle)
  4. Can be used to remove load from suspension and tyres when in storage
  5. Easy fitting of wheel locks
  6. 100mm+ of lift (more with foot plates) - equivalent to a large set of levelling blocks

In Addition:

  1. The system is low maintenance
  2. With the levelling legs deployed, it acts as a theft deterrent
  3. The system is quick to fit
  4. Doors don't swing and water drains correctly
  5. The system can easily be moved from one caravan to the next (alternate axle brackets may be required)
  6. Ideal for caravans stored on site and towed to pitch (no need to fit a mover to level on ramps)

TWIN LIFT - how it works

The TWIN LIFT system has been designed for ease of use, following these simple steps:

  1. Find the perfect spot
  2. Disconnect caravan from towing vehicle
  3. Using the app, deploy the levelling legs, in either auto or manual mode to achieve side to side level
  4. Using the jockey wheel, adjust the front to back level  as indicated by the app, until level is achieved
  5. Deploy the corner steadies as normal to support the caravan.  (corner steadies are not designed to lift the caravan and should never be used to do this)

Technical Information

TWIN LIFT - capabilities

The system is designed for twin axle touring caravans with Alko axles and a maximum weight of 2000Kg, although the actuators can lift and support a much greater weight.

The maximum extension of the actuators is 190mm, which is sufficient to level on the vast majority of pitches.  The levelling effect of the caravan will be variable, though, based on actuator lifting position on the axle, caravan width, ground clearance and the surface the caravan is parked on.  The lift can be easily increased, though, with the aid of foot plates, if necessary.

The  simplistic nature of the fitting process allows the system to be fitted by anyone who is competent and confident to work under a caravan.  Professional fitting is also available at extra cost, for those who would prefer to leave this task to others!

TWIN LIFT - components

The TWIN LIFT system is designed for side to side levelling  and comes with the following components:

1) 2x Electrohydraulic actuators for mounting to axle

2) Internally mounted control unit

3) Remote for operation

4) All required brackets and fixings

5) All cabling etc from isolator to actuators

Comparison to alternatives

Levelling blocks

  • Ease/speed of levelling - select perfect position and level without shuffling etc.
  • Improved stability when pitched - no "bounce" from suspension
  • Allows the fitting of axle receiver type wheel locks

Other hydraulic systems

  • Cost - TWIN LIFT is roughly half the cost of other products available on the market
  • Closed hydraulic system - each ram in the TWIN LIFT system has its own pump and motor and is directly mounted to the cylinder.  This means that there are no pipes to fit or degrade
  • Ease of fitting/transfer to alternate caravan - due to the closed hydraulic circuit, running of the cables and placement of the control unit is all that is required after mounting the actuators to the axle
  • The decentralised hydraulics creates two independent hydraulic systems; should one suffer failure or damage, the other would still operate
  • Comparatively simple system with less potential points of failure

Pneumatic pillows

  • No punctures to contend with, which could overload corner steadies in the event of a failure when the caravan is fully stabilised
  • Stability when pitched - no "bounce" from suspension or pillows
  • Ease/speed of levelling - select perfect position and level without shuffling etc
  • No storage and preparation of dirty items
  • Simplified fitting of axle receiver type wheel locks
  • Suitable for long term pitching
